An awkward basement footprint transformed into the ultimate year-round gathering space.

With unusual angles, a structural support pole, and a fireplace that left little room for a traditional seating arrangement, this basement needed more than great finishes—it needed creative space planning.

Rather than forcing a conventional table and chairs into the fireside area, we designed a custom leather banquette that eliminates the circulation space traditional chairs would require while creating the perfect spot for meals, puzzles, or movie nights by the fire. In the adjoining TV area, custom lower cabinetry visually defines the entertainment zone beneath the coffered ceiling while cleverly incorporating a structural pole that once interrupted the room. The expansive countertop also provides an ideal serving surface for game-day spreads and casual entertaining.

A custom kitchenette, multiple TVs, flexible seating, and durable finishes make the basement equally suited for football season and summer days by the pool. And because a family hangout needs to work just as hard as it plays, eight concealed pull-out trash bins throughout the kitchenette and entertaining areas make cleanup almost effortless.

The result is a basement where every awkward angle and obstacle became an opportunity—and every square foot has a reason for being there.
