An awkward ceiling became the inspiration for a cozy, productive retreat.

With multiple ceiling angles breaking up the room, using different colors on the walls and ceiling would have only emphasized the unusual architecture. Instead, we embraced it—wrapping the entire space in one deep, moody color to visually quiet the angles and create a warm, enveloping feel.

Designed as my own home office, the space needed to be somewhere I genuinely wanted to spend my days: comfortable and inspiring, but still functional enough for focused work. Rich textures, layered furnishings, and thoughtful details soften the room and give it the cozy character that inspired its name.

The result is proof that an architectural challenge can become one of a room’s greatest strengths.
